Meet our Beaverton, OR - Beaverton Academy of Science and Engineering HS Leader 

I am an aspiring neurologist and I have a particular interest in Alzheimer's disease. I really wanted to start MCC at my school to teach others about how we can impact people with Alzheimer's disease by using the simple power of words. I think that Alzheimer's disease is very interesting, and find it a bit scary that anyone can get it. I do find comfort in the fact that some habits of your nurture can impact the disease's development, such as smoking. I also find it sad how it impacts people's lives, due to their behavioral shifts they can often feel isolated as they may not be able to share the same emotions or memories with their friends and other loved ones. Overall, I wanted to be able to have an impact on my community, and this club is one myself and many others can do so.
