I decided to join Memory Care Connections because I wanted to hear stories from people who have lived and experienced so many different things. The bonds I’ve created with some of the people at Emerson House are so special, and I’ve learned not only a lot about them but also a lot about myself. I think it’s so important to hear other people’s stories and broaden your understanding of life. Memory Care Connections has made a big impact on my life and has taught me to appreciate the connections I make with people, no matter how different our experiences may be.

I wanted to be involved with Memory Care Connections because I have seen how dementia can affect families and make it harder for people to connect with their loved ones. I want to learn more about dementia and help support people and families going through these challenges. I also think this is a great opportunity to gain experience in healthcare and make a positive difference in my community.

I want to be part of Memory Care Connections because I’ve seen how much happiness a simple letter can bring to someone. I’ve been part of this club since freshman year, exchanging pen-pal letters and now getting to help out firsthand with the people receiving them. I love being able to make real connections and brighten someone’s day, even through something as simple as a letter. I believe that creating these connections can go a long way, making someone feel remembered and cared for.
